My best friend

My best friend is named Ximena :)

She has been my best friend for almost five years now and I hope there will be a lot more years having her friendship because we have great time together and always laugh of almost everything. 

We meet at school, when we were on "alianzas" that's how it's named the celebration that we have in my school and they last a full week in September, but before of the presentations of activities we prepare them for almost half a year for that moment. I met Ximena preparing one of those activities because we were in charge of some coreographies.

We have a lot of things in common, like the love for animals. ALso a lot of our friends are the same and all of our close circle of people now each other. The both of us love going to the theatre and music concerts, also going to the cinema is one of our favorites hobbys. 

A strange thing is that our personalities are really different, for not saying opposite, wath I thing makes us eaven better friends because we complement each other.

Sadly she doesn't have much time now because she's finishing her teacher career and this consumes almost all of her time, without counting that the two of us have boyfriends. jajajajja. For  mostly this reasons I see her once every two weeks.

Starting 2012

Hello!

This monday I'll write about how it was for me the first semester of this year in a lot of subjects.

In the studies I learned a lot of sides of journalism, specially on radio. Working in it was a great time for me, specially doing a radio show and producing it gaved me a lot of experiences that will be usefull when I get my journalism degree.

In other subject, I get to use a lot of free time to spend quality time with my family, wath I couldn't do for a lot of time past year because I was working. 

On winter vacations I spend really good hours going to the cinema with my boyfriend and finally get some free time to see him :).

A big challenge that I had last semester, and also always in my life, is to found the time to do everything I have to do and also that I want to do, time that I have problems to find, overall when we're in classes at the university.

The most serious problem that I had was the illnes of my grandmother, a problem that still exist and I hope it goes away soon.

I hope this semester goes better that how it started because I had some troubles in the beggining of it and I wish that bad luck gets away as soon as possible.

My vision of Santiago

This semester things are a little different from the first of this year.

Now that we are on a strike and only have the english class is time to start writting on the blog again.

In this opportunity I'll be talking about the city where I live and where I'm from: Santiago of Chile.

What I really like about this city is that you can find a lot of different places to go in only one city, activities for all kind of people and also a variety of communities in their neighberhoods. I really enjoy to meet different people and find my self on a lot of situations that turn to be special while I'm walking or travelling around Santiago.

Insteade,what I really dislike, and specially on this moment of my live is the lack of security that streets gives you on Santiago, robberys are usuall and the protection from Carabineros(the police of Chile) isn't really helpfull, instead they even act against the own citicens that they should protect, for example on marchs. This gives you a lot of insecurities at the moment that you decide to go out in the city.

Try to change this last part will make things really better inthe city, and Santiago will be able to become a better place to live, but only maybe, because I cuold be a long time sitting here writting you about what can be improved in the capital of Chile.

Now, if you are coming to Santiago like a visitor you have to be shure of take really good care of your personal things and to don't walk in really lonely places that can put you on risk. That for me could be the most important cares you should have when you visit Santiago of Chile.

Blogging in English

This time I´ll talk about my experience writting on this blog. 

It has been more than three months writting in here, and all of this time writting in English, what has been really dificult for me because I wasn´t use to write in a blog and less in english.

Sometimes I really enjoyed it while we were in class, the things that we wrote were really fun and helped us to knew our class mates and in the case of ones we knew already it alouded us to get to know them even more that before.

It really helped me with my english, maybe not to get a perfect writting, but yes improving it a little, now I can at least write something that people can understand what I´m trying to say to them.

I think it´s an advantage to do this kind of works because it help us to be better in the use of English and in the fastness in the moment that we have to use this language in the class, also I think that latter it´ll really usefull to know all that we´re learning now about this subject. 

The bad point is that I think that maybe we could do some more speaking excersise that is where I have more problems (I think) in this  area of the English language.

Vacations! :D

Now that the winter vacations are coming I'll write today about this subject because I only want them to be here, to be free from the university and be able to do only what I want, not what university wants from me.

My favourites activities to do on vacations are sleeping and resting in my house or somewhere alse, with my family and my friends, beacuse I usually spend my time with them on my free hours.

In the case of winter vacations I mostly do inside activities like go to the movies, go to museums, reading books that I don't have time to read on a normal semester.

For this vacations my plans of what I will do aren´t much different, I'll also see my family and my friends that I haven't seen in such time. But there is a change on the winter vacations of this year. At the end of July I'll travel to Mendoza in car with my three best friends for a week.

This year our winter vacations will be longer that previous years, we'll have three weeks of liberty! before coming back to the cruel reality of the studies and work. 

"Bio Bio, la radio"

Today I will talk about a subject related to the career I´m studing now in the Universidad de Chile, that is journalism.

In this career there are a lot of ways to practice and create the news every day, one of them is related to the Internet.  Webpages are one of the most used ways to comunicate and give instant news. That´s why a lot of means of communication create and use in every moments websites of their media, like radios, newspapers, etc.

This time I’ll talk about the webpage of Radio Bio Bio and how it works. Next you can visit the media and go to radio biobio's web page.

 
On this web page you can find news and diferent sections of this subject, like national, regional, worldwide, sport, technology, economy and interviews, and that’s only in the writen part of the page. Also you can listen to the radio on line, and hear de programs that are being transmited in the same moment you’re hearing them and also archives of audio and paste programs that the radio has transmited.

I usually visit this web site every other day, and sometimes very day when I need material for my classes at university and I really like it because I can get all the information I need in only one web page instead of go from page to page.

A sweet photography

This is one of the few photographs where I´m supposedly look sweet(but I keep thinking it´s a lie). In this opportunity I´m next to one of my friends at the university, Carolina =)

I´m not sure who took this picture, but I think that it was a career mate, Vicky. She took it while  we were doing a work for the photography class. we took it few weeks ago.

In this picture Caro and I were talking about something without much relevance (I guess), at the university campus, or something that wasn´t relative to the work we had to do. Also you can see that it was freezing because we´re wrapped up.

I like this photography because I love to take pictures with my closest friends and I think that it´s a really sweet and happy one, It makes me remember the fun times we have together. Usually I think that I´m not a photogenic person, but I only like how I look in this one because we´re really happy and having a great time.
